"Casos" On-line

Posted by Jackie at 7:28 AM Labels: casos pln

All this is challenging and thrilling. I find that there is so much that can be dine, yet I realize my limitations. Building a on-line/virtual course means to implement a variety of gadgets. Technology is growing on us like it or not.
Technology involves society around the world. It speeds up our timetables and daily routines. There are no longer excuses for not being updated or informed. A high percentage of students have access to information from their cellphones.
What I find intriguing is that once educators start catching up with the digitally native, some new system appears which distances us from our students. Creating a virtual class implies that it needs to be "technologically friendly" for the educator and needs to be catchy and mesmorizing for learners.
I find that technology speeds up the learning teaching process and interaction among society. We network into creating student-student , student-class, student-world, student-information, teacher- student, parent-teacher connections at the tips of our fingers. So, information flies in microseconds.
Do we really want this? Are we preparing our learners emotionally to overcome being competent digitally? How?
Educational Paradigms are shifting from locally to globally citizenship. How can we possibly do this if locally citizenship is a weakness?

Well, someone has to do it right? And you are in a positiong where you can train your teachers to start creating the network you are talking about, then, those teachers can apply it to students. I believe this process won't take just a couple of months, it will continue as long as the teacher wants to continue finding new ways to teach.

There are many shy students who don´t dare to speak in front of other or that simply reject the fact of being able to interact with others. Blogging can be a solution; when they notice they can freely express their thoughts and receive comments, they will probably change, why not?

For over 25 years I have been involved in education. I have always loved to teach and learn at the same time. I find that you can never stop. It's an addiction, that can be healthy for acedemic purposes but unhealthy for your family. I find that life is about learning and teaching, that learner and educator roles shift and overlap in life settings as well as in the classroom.
